Julie Martindale

Julie holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary and a Masters degree from the University of Saskatchewan, both in Archaeology. Julie’s passion focuses on mobility, trade networks, and stone tool technology. Although having worked in Yukon, BC, Greece, and Nicaragua, her love for boreal forest archaeology in northern Alberta was where she spent the majority of her career. Wanting to bring an academic lens to the heavily dominated consulting archaeology in the region, Julie focused her thesis on the Mobility and the distribution of Beaver River Sandstone in Northern Alberta and Northern Saskatchewan. A permit holding archaeologist, Julie led several surveys and excavations in Forestry and oil and gas consultation. After 10 years in the field, Julie moved from stone tool technology to digital technology and for the last 6 years has been managing small to large, complex IT & Cybersecurity projects and programs in the Energy sector.
