
Rachel Archambault is a CRM archaeologist specializing in the material culture of the historical period based in Quebec. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in archeology from Laval University and her master’s thesis focused on the relationship between drinking practices, Victorian class norms and socio-economic status. She is currently doing a Ph.D. at the University of Montreal in the context of which she studies the spontaneous dumps of the 20th century in island environments (in Quebec and Barbuda), in particular, to study the behaviours and practices of island communities and to develop methodologies for the collection, analysis and storage of contemporary collections. In parallel with her academic and professional activities, she promotes Quebec’s archaeological heritage through involvement in various committees and boards of directors, a presence on social networks and active participation in conferences and mainstream media.
